Cross Country Makes History
Boys and Girls Race to State
For the first time in Clarendon High School history, the cross country boys team advanced past district. The team consisted of freshmen Colt Wood and Josh Cobb, sophomores Bryce Grahn, Steven Johnson and Keandre Cortez, junior Caleb Cobb, and senior Lee Buckhaults. At the district meet in Shamrock Grahn placed 1st, Wood placed 2nd, and Johnson placed 5th. This enabled the boys to place 1st as a team.
The girls cross country team also did well at district. The team included freshman Whitney LaRoe, sophomore Sarah Williams, junior Brooke Martin, and seniors Abby Johnson, Allyson Grahn and Skyler White. Grahn placed 1st while Johnson placed 8th giving the girls team a 3rd place finish and the opportunity to run at regionals.
On their way to State, cross country runners from both the boys and girls teams did well at the regional meet this last weekend. In Lubbock A. Grahn placed 7th and A. Johnson placed 8th for the girls. For the boys, B. Grahn placed 11th.
All three runners will run in Round Rock on Saturday, November 8th.
