Launch the media gallery 1 player - media #2Mrs. Gribble’s and Mrs. Wann’s first grade classes recently celebrated Grandparents Day at Clarendon Elementary. Every year, these teachers take time out of their hectic schedule to invite the grandparents to their respective rooms to enjoy and share in their grandchild’s day at school.
The fun began at 10:00 on Thursday, September 8, as the grandparents began filing into their grandchild’s room. Poems, songs, and illustrations of favorite memories with their grandparents were shared. The children’s excitement was very noticeable as they also learned what it was like when their grandparents were young. After a delicious lunch in the school cafeteria, the children and their guests said their goodbyes and they finished out their day. “It was a special and fun time,” Mrs. Gribble said.
