The Clarendon High School and junior high cross-country programs wrapped up a stellar 2026 fall campaign following strong showings across regional competition, highlighted by standout individual efforts and historic district success.
While the grueling regional championship meet at Mae Simmons Park in Lubbock brought the team's postseason run to a close for most, junior standout Addy Havens punched her ticket to the state stage, leading a wave of orange-and-white pride across the Texas Panhandle.
Havens Advances to State After Regionals
Addy Havens cemented her status as one of the region's elite distance runners with another gritty postseason performance. Havens captured a stellar season resume that included a first-place finish at the Quanah Cross Country meet (14:00.09 for two miles), a runner-up performance at the Groom "Cross" meet (13:32.18), and a second-place medal at the Claude meet at Lake Tanglewood (14:26.1). Her consistency culminated in securing qualification to the UIL State Cross Country Championships.
Broncos and Colts Cap Off Memorable Season
The remainder of the high school varsity and junior high rosters put the finishing touches on a memorable autumn defined by personal records and podium finishes.
Tristen Ybarra: The senior leader put together a championship-caliber season, highlighted by capturing the 2-2A district crown with a blazing 5K time of 18:11.81. Ybarra also secured a silver medal at the Quanah meet (19:01.75) and a bronze finish at the Claude meet at Lake Tanglewood (18:49.1).

Future Bright with Strong Junior High (Colts) Finishers
The future of Clarendon cross-country remains bright, anchored by a dynamic junior high group that consistently challenged the front packs all season:
Asa Baines: Led the Colts division with a 3rd-place finish at Quanah, a 5th-place run at Lake Tanglewood (14:11.9), and a dominant overall men's 5K victory at the community Saints' Roost Run (21:45).
